- ➤ Today, GasBuddy's survey of 628 stations shows South Dakota gas prices rose by 8.4 cents per gallon, averaging $2.53 at the pump. Prices remain 4.9 cents lower than a month ago and 27.2 cents lower than a year ago. KBHB
- ➤ Rapid City Regional Airport set a new enplanement record in 2025, showing strong growth in air travel last year. Rapid City Journal
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Elementary and middle school students from across the state will compete in the South Dakota State Spelling Bee at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell on Saturday, Feb. 7. The contest will select one winner who will advance to the 2026 Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington. KBHB
- ➤ Education officials are considering House Bill 1017 to let school boards move disruptive students to alternative settings (home or behavioral facilities) to reduce classroom disruptions. The measure was deferred after a Jan. 16 committee hearing amid debates about costs and support as student aggression rises in schools. South Dakota News Watch
