EDUCATION NEWS

  • Rapid City Area Schools will send families with school lunch debt to collections following recent communications with parents. District CFO Coy Sasse confirmed that students will continue to receive lunches regardless of account balances.  Rapid City Journal
  • South Dakotans of all ages are invited to join the Race to Read Challenge (begun Jan. 11) to enjoy a statewide push for good books and lifelong learning. The event encourages all residents to pick up reading and share their love of literature.  Rapid City Journal

SPORTS NEWS

  • Black Hills State University men's team beat Colorado Mesa 85-63 in Grand Junction after matching the record with 19 made 3-pointers, with Cam Lowe scoring a career-best 31 points + five players reached double figures. Meanwhile, the women's team lost 62-49, snapping their ten-game win streak.  KBHB
