- ➤ South Dakota is expanding its critical minerals exploration with drilling tests in the Black Hills and elsewhere, including lithium near Hill City and graphite near Rochford; a Rapid City-based team will drill 18 holes on federal lands while state lawmakers consider stricter mining regulations (aimed at protecting water quality).
