CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ City officials unveiled a new logo for the America 250 celebration today that marks 250 years of local heritage, and the design will be featured in upcoming festivities. Rapid City Journal
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ At the Black Hills Stock Show Monday in Rapid City, an Angus auction brought in over $393,000 as heifers sold for $109,650 and bulls netted $283,500; top bids were $25,000 for a heifer from Chestnut Angus + $17,000 for a bull from Cundy Ranch. KBHB
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Rapid City Fire Department released its 2025 stats on Monday—reporting 22,591 calls, 472 more than in 2024—and said sprinkler systems protected an estimated $66.5 million in property. Officials noted that crews maintained rapid response times throughout. KBHB
- ➤ At Monday’s council meeting, officials updated the Park Ranger Program (launched in Aug. 2024 to boost park safety) which has completed over 29,000 patrols with 11,406 reported events. City leaders stressed its role in monitoring parks, facilities, and visitor areas. KBHB

- ➤ On Tuesday night, the Scooper girls used a 17 to 0 run to beat Belle Fourche 45 to 25 at West Gym while the Scooper boys lost 62 to 34 to St. Thomas More in Rapid City. Both teams will face Mitchell on Friday night. KBHB
