- ➤ Plans have been announced to convert the former Prairie Berry Winery into a museum (featuring fossils, minerals and dinosaur exhibits) that will offer a glimpse into prehistory. The project is in progress and expected to become a cultural attraction for the community soon. Rapid City Journal
- ➤ South Dakota Mines music students are hosting their seventh annual Sweetheart Dinner and Dance fundraiser to celebrate the heart of winter at the university—inviting local community members to join an evening of music and fellowship. Rapid City Journal
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Families with unpaid meal debt received donations that helped prevent collections after the Rapid City Area Schools Board passed a new meal charge policy, and local families have already seen relief. The board said the change is meant to ease financial burdens on families. Rapid City Journal
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Since November 1-2, states have enforced new SNAP rules that exempt Native people in Rapid City from ABAWD work requirements under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, a change meant to address long-standing inequities. Tribal members receive benefits automatically (tribal enrollment may be required). Native Sun News
