- ➤ The top-ranked Sturgis Scooper wrestling team opened Friday’s state dual tournament with a 56-13 win over Rapid City Central using a clear score. It will face Watertown at 1:00 p.m. MT. KBHB
- ➤ The Sturgis Scooper wrestling team won the state dual tournament on Friday in Sturgis, beating Rapid City Central (56-13) in the first round before defeating Watertown and Aberdeen Central to claim the championship. Watertown edged Brandon Valley for second place. KBHB
- ➤ In Spearfish on Thursday, BHSU men beat Colorado School of Mines 87-69 and the women won 62-50 in their 500th contest at A2 Arena to boost their RMAC standings. In Rapid City, South Dakota Mines snapped a 16-game losing streak by upsetting Regis 103-98 and also won 78-48. KBHB
- ➤ Sturgis Brown High School's activities director Jade Temple announced that Sharon Peterson, a native and Scooper alumna, is set to become the new head volleyball coach pending Board approval. Her extensive coaching background from 2005 is expected to strengthen the program. KBHB
