COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Community Connect will hold a free event on March 19 and March 20 in Rapid City, asking locals to donate clean items and volunteer to help distribute free clothing, housewares, showers, haircuts, and more. Rapid City Journal
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The School Board ended the full-time School Resource Officer for Summerset schools, leaving the Meade County Sheriffs Department to cover Piedmont Valley Elementary and Stagebarn Middle (Summerset police opposed the move). Leaders said they had sought a solution to keep the strong bonds built since the role began in 2018. KBHB
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Rapid City will host three state basketball tournaments this spring—boys’ Class A and AA and girls’ Class AA—after scheduling conflicts at the PREMIER Center prevented Sioux Falls from hosting. The tournaments were planned years ago and will take place in March. KBHB

10:30 a.m. — Founders Park — $25 pre-registration — Run or walk to support colon cancer awareness and enjoy a morning of fun for all ages.

6-8 p.m. — The Monument Ice Arena — Food available while supplies last — A fun-filled evening for kids 16 and under to hunt for Easter eggs.
