- ➤ Rapid City Police are searching for a Native American man who pointed a gun at an employee at a Common Cents gas station on Mount Rushmore Road on March 18 at 8:00 p.m.—he later fled in a blue minivan with temporary plates and is described as wearing a navy blue jacket, white undershirt, white shoes and a black and white balaclava, and anyone with information is asked to call 605-394-4131. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Dr. Brian Tande was named president of South Dakota Mines in late January and he is working to keep more graduates from leaving the Black Hills—he plans to strengthen local job connections with internships, cooperative programs and entrepreneurship training. The current retention rate stands at 41% and raising it will boost local businesses and community resources. Rapid City Journal
