CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The BHSU Center for American Indian Studies will host its 41st annual Lakota Omniciye Wacipi at the Donald E. Young Center on April 18 at noon to conclude American Indian Awareness Week. The event will feature Indigenous dancers, singers, and drummers. Native Sun News
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ CDKC Extension Service has introduced a new coloring book for K-12 classrooms that teaches plant science and Cheyenne language using QR codes (created by Director Henry Thompson and student interns). Educators can contact CDKC for a copy until supplies run out. Native Sun News
- ➤ Rapid City Area Schools Board approved a bond proposal lowering the plan to $107 million to upgrade 23 schools, including three new elementary schools + address safety and HVAC issues. The district will share more details ahead of the referendum in November. KBHB

- ➤ U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon visited Colman Egan High School and McCrossan Boy’s Ranch today; she then joined Governor Larry Rhoden at Flandreau Indian School where over 100 students took part in interactive History Rocks! activities during her Returning Education to the States Tour.
