CRIME NEWS

  • A man was stabbed during a fight that began at a home and moved onto 12th Street last night and is now in the hospital with serious injuries—police arrested one man and continue investigating the incident.  KBHB

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Rhoden signed Senate Bill 216 that limits property assessments, which is expected to cost Rapid City nearly $10 million over the next five years—Sioux Falls may lose about $25 million over 10 years. He has proposed that counties address the loss with a sales tax of up to half a percent—officials say the plan is under review.  KBHB

SPORTS NEWS

  • South Dakota Mines has named Michael Iseman as the new head men's basketball coach — Athletics Director David Crum praised Iseman's decade of collegiate coaching success that includes leading Missouri University of Science and Technology to its first NCAA Tournament bid in nearly 30 years. Iseman will begin his role on Tuesday, April 22 and looks forward to building a winning program in Rapid City.  KBHB
  • Area girls golf teams started their season at Spearfish Canyon Country Club Tuesday when they played in the Spearfish Invitational. The tournament used a team-match-play format with two-person teams (results ranged widely among competitors).  KBHB
