- ➤ A Box Elder man died in a crash on South Cabin Road (5 miles west of Highway 73 and 15 miles south of Lemmon). Rapid City Journal
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ State government boards will hold several public meetings this week starting Tuesday, April 22, with events like the Equal Access to Our Courts Commission meeting at 10 a.m. CT by teleconference, the Public Utilities Commission meeting at 1:30 p.m. CT in room 414 at the Capitol, and the Birth to 3 Interagency Coordinating Council meeting at 3 p.m. CT. Additional sessions are set for Wednesday and Thursday with the Accountancy and Massage Therapy Boards and others—no meetings are scheduled today or Friday, and the Addiction and Prevention Professionals Board will meet next Monday at 9 a.m. CT. - ➤ The South Dakota Supreme Court ruled in favor of seven Air National Guard members who sued adjutant general Mark Morrell for benefits owed under USERRA after an involuntary activation. The unanimous decision stated the members are entitled to accrued military leave — and the case is sent back for more review — while the adjutant general’s office has not commented. KBHB
- ➤ The USDA Forest Services’ Rocky Mountain Region is hiring permanent firefighters in national forests in South Dakota, with jobs including forestry technician roles for wildland fires (salaries range from $26,000 to $52,000 a year). Applications (for up to 1,100 positions nationwide) are now open. KELOLAND
