CULTURE NEWS

  • Black Hills Community Theatre will conclude its 58th season with the midwestern drama 'Eminent Domain' about a family fighting to save their farm from a pipeline. The production will run from May 1 to May 17 at the Performing Arts Center, and events include a post-show talkback and playwriting workshop.  KBHB

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Black Hills Federal Credit Union has awarded 10 high school seniors $2,000 each today & marks over 20 years of support in its VIBZ Scholarship Program honoring commitment, leadership, and academic success.  KBHB

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Rapid City's Sustainability Committee started the Earth Day Trail Challenge yesterday on Earth Day, inviting residents to hike three trails—Upper/Old Dino on Skyline Drive, Wild Turkey Trail at Hanson-Larsen Memorial Park and Nature Trail at the Outdoor Campus West—through June 30 to earn a special pin with a selfie.  KBHB

SPORTS NEWS

  • At Tuesday's Rapid City Central Junior Varsity Track and Field Meet, the Sturgis Scoopers won first place in boys' 4x200, 4x400 and 4x800 relays, while Quinn Bruch, Danica Dschaak, Nolan Long and Peyton VanDeest claimed individual titles in the 3,200, high jump, sprints and distance events + relays.  KBHB
  • Rapid City Stevens women’s softball team stayed perfect with a 14 to 0 win over the Sturgis Scoopers last night as Audrinna Colhoff and Macy Muth hit home runs. The Raiders will play Aberdeen Central on Friday, April 24 and Pierre on Saturday, while the Scoopers face Pierre on Friday.  KBHB
  • Tuesday, Rapid City Stevens won all singles and doubles matches in prep boys tennis (a 9-0 shutout of Spearfish) while Spearfish recovered in a second match to beat Rapid City Central 7-2.  KBHB
