- ➤ Rapid City officials announced that outdoor pools will open soon with special promotions (chilly weather is expected to give way to warmer days). The opening dates will allow residents to plan pool visits as temperatures rise. Rapid City Journal

- ➤ A Rapid City man allegedly threw a smoke bomb into a vehicle and was arrested for vandalism, plus police found drugs in his car. Rapid City Journal
- ➤ Luke Birch, 22, is charged with first-degree murder in connection with McGarland Walker’s shooting in March; his lawyers requested that part of his statement made on the night of the killing be suppressed for alleged Miranda rights violations and no decision was made at the hearing, with his trial set for early September. - ➤ Rapid City police arrested 29-year-old Garrett Otto for two counts of attempted murder and simple assault after they responded to a disturbance at an improvised camp under the I-190 bridge on Sunday night—officers found two individuals with knife wounds and said the parties knew each other. - ➤ Rapid City Area Schools is hosting the 2025 Senior Honoring Ceremony today at Stevens High School—an event that celebrates the achievements of graduating Native American seniors with traditions like eagle feather presentations and a traditional meal. The ceremony may mark the largest group of Native American graduates in RCAS history. KBHB
- ➤ Michael Birkeland and Angela Bradsky Rafferty answered questions about boosting enrollment, teacher support, and facility improvements during a Q&A for the RCAS Area 3 board seat election set for June 3 with new members starting on July 1.
