CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Cory Lindman, 43, was sentenced to prison for conspiring to distribute meth in Rapid City after pleading guilty in March — he helped traffic about 100 pounds of the drug from 2021 to 2023. KBHB
- ➤ A Wisconsin man was arrested after he allegedly shot outside a Rapid City gas station — police identified him using witness statements and video evidence. Rapid City Journal
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Storybook Island restarted its theater camps this summer for kindergarten through 8th graders after a 10-year break—partnering with Black Hills Playhouse and Dakota Players to teach stage skills as campers prepare to perform next Friday and sign up for another camp in July. KELOLAND
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ State offices will be decided in 2026 when voters head to the Capitol for races that include open contests for state auditor, state treasurer & Public Utilities Commissioner as Rich Sattgast, Josh Haeder and Gary Hanson are not running again, and delegates will choose candidates at June conventions for the November 3 vote. - ➤ Brian Johnson, a candidate for Rapid City Area Schools' Board of Education, lost by three votes to Jamie Clapham and alleges election mishandling after receiving a cease-and-desist letter from two RCAS leaders and noting that Meade County voters were excluded from the rolls—while the recount originally set for Thursday was postponed with a new date to be determined.
