CRIME NEWS

  • A deputy in Whitewood stopped to help a motorist change a flat tire on I-90 when a passenger, later identified as Ashton Tusing, gave a false name and resisted arrest, leading to a fight that injured an officer (a Whitewood officer was hit in the head and a Highway Patrol trooper was struck in the leg) before Tusing was handcuffed and taken to Lawrence County Jail on several charges.  KBHB
  • State investigators are asking local residents for help after former gymnastics coach Hayden Sengua, 25, was indicted on federal child pornography charges for possessing more than 14,000 images and videos of children—some of whom he may have coached—and are working to identify additional potential victims.  KBHB
  • Rapid City police are searching for 18-year-old Jaxon Jewett (considered armed and dangerous) after he shot a man in the shoulder in Star Village shortly before 4:00 p.m. on July 2 and the victim is expected to survive.  KBHB
