- ➤ At Ellsworth Air Force Base, Col. Erick Lord took command of the 28th Bomb Wing on July 25th in a ceremony led by Maj. Gen. Jason R. Armagost, which highlighted the wing’s role in global strike and the upcoming arrival of the B-21 Raider in the mid-2020s — marking a new leadership chapter for the base. KBHB
- ➤ A vacation rental ordinance drafted by a local advisory committee will be reviewed by the Planning Commission and then voted on by the City Council after public hearings begin in August. The ordinance defines vacation homes as those rented for no more than 28 consecutive days, sets guest and parking limits, and requires a conditional use permit for homes with over five bedrooms — offering a six-month grace period for compliance — as the city works to better monitor short-term rentals.
