GasBuddy’s survey of 628 stations shows that South Dakota gas prices rose 1.1 cents per gallon to average $2.92 today—prices that are still 26.9 cents lower than they were a year ago—and the rise comes as the state gets ready for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
South Dakota teachers earned an average of $56,328 during the 2023-24 school year—falling short of the $59,659.25 target that could have boosted the state’s national ranking by eight spots.
Lawmakers and education experts said slow funding increases mean the gap will likely widen as the next target of $62,821.19 looms and future budget cuts are expected.
