- ➤ Rapid City Area Schools will welcome over 1,700 staff tomorrow during the District Opener from 8:00 to about 10:30 a.m. across all RCAS buildings—district officials say the event unites staff for the new school year. KBHB
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Great Plains Fire Dispatch reported on August 15 that a series of nine small fires broke out across the region—most started by lightning and one was sparked by human activity. Firefighting teams from forest, state, and local agencies launched initial attacks on most incidents while two were contained and conditions are being monitored. KBHB
