- ➤ Today, the Salvation Army of the Black Hills teamed up with local law enforcement in Rapid City to kick off their annual Shop With A Cop event where students pick new clothes and school supplies. Students from Rapid City and Pine Ridge Reservation join to build trust with officers as they choose what they need. KELOLAND
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ South Dakota Mines hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday to dedicate the new Vanderboom Laboratory for Entrepreneurial Research (a 40,000-square-foot facility). The lab, funded by a $5.25 million state allocation and a $2 million gift from Steve and Julie Vanderboom (designed to boost research and industry collaboration), will serve as a central hub for innovation. - ➤ The South Dakota Prep Media Football Poll for the week of Sept.22 listed the top five teams in each class by wins, points and first-place votes. Lincoln led Class 11AAA with a 4-0 record while Yankton topped Class 11AA and SF Christian led Class 11A — the poll also provided updated rankings for other classes. KBHB
