- ➤ Rapid City's Be Cool campaign enters its second year as local groups + including Pennington County Human Services, Journey On, Woyatan Church, Mobile Medic, and Cornerstone Mission meet every Thursday to offer warming centers, transport, and bedding for homeless residents during winter. - ➤ He Sapa Vintage will celebrate its grand re-opening in November—after owner Caitlin Hein moved out of the 523 Seventh St. location—so another vintage business can use the space. Rapid City Journal
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Starting Monday, Oct. 20th, 2025, U.S. Highway 385 from the south end of Pactola Dam to Taylor Ranch Road will be closed to through traffic for construction that will finish in March 2026—local accesses to Victoria Lake Road, McCurdy Gulch Road, and both approaches to Pactola Reservoir remain open with a detour along S.D. Highway 44 and U.S. Highway 16. KBHB

- ➤ After a legal battle and extensive renovations, the Rapid City respite center opened—patients will begin using the facility next week. Rapid City Journal
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ On Thursday night, Rapid City Central won the cheer grand champion title at the Sturgis Invitational with 187 points—Rapid City Stevens scored 166.5 and Sturgis 157.5. The team also earned the grand champion dance title with 351 points by capturing the Pom and Hip Hop categories ahead of Rapid City Stevens and Spearfish. KBHB
