- ➤ Hundreds gathered near Sioux Park on Native Americans’ Day for the annual Remembering the Children Walk to honor those who perished at the old boarding school site now home to the Oyate Health Center — four new names were read as researchers plan to look for more in historic records. - ➤ Local business owner Jess Dornbusch — who runs Kelley’s Bar — said that fewer out-of-town pheasant hunters are staying overnight in Parker this season. He said that the rise of bird hunting farms — which let hunters stay on site — has forced him to downsize from his former steakhouse to Kelley’s Bar. KELOLAND

- ➤ Country artist Chancey Williams released his album Miles On Me, featuring 11 tracks that blend rodeo toughness with modern country sound—he also premiered the official video for Past the Point of Rescue. - ➤ The FFA Foundation awarded scholarships to five regional range evaluation winners, including a Sturgis student who placed first in the fall competitions that taught range management skills. - ➤ Black Hills Plastic Surgery, which offers cosmetic and reconstructive treatments, will join Sanford Health as part of its Black Hills Region by the end of the year. - ➤ A Commonwealth Fund study released on September 25 found that South Dakota’s healthcare infrastructure faced high risks from extreme weather and natural hazards—similar to the vulnerabilities seen in Florida.
