EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Rapid City Area Schools calendar committee has drafted new calendars that show later start dates following earlier heat closures—these changes aim to better accommodate the disruptions experienced this school year. The committee was formed in response to the heat closures, and the draft dates are now under review. Rapid City Journal

- ➤ The USDA’s Farm Service Agency offices reopened today to help ag producers get co-signatures on farm check deposits and submit applications for programs like ARC and PLC — with only two employees available per county office, services remain limited. KBHB

Ward Simpson and leaders from the Episcopal and Catholic churches condemned Secretary of War Pete Hegseth's decision to let soldiers who took part in the Wounded Knee massacre keep their medals—arguing that this dishonors the tragedy and distorts history.
