  • Rapid City officials are asking residents to donate unwrapped toys for the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program—residents are encouraged to pick up gift tags, purchase an item and drop off their donations.  Rapid City Journal

  • Zane and Stephen Swan, Lakota brothers from a Rapid City-owned custom apparel manufacturer, have opened a new shop in Uptown Rapid—this expansion brings their brand to more local customers.  Rapid City Journal

ECONOMY NEWS

  • GasBuddy reported that gas prices in South Dakota fell by 5.4 cents per gallon over the past week to average $2.66 today+ prices are 12.3 cents lower than last month and 10.1 cents lower than last year.  KBHB

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Pennington County State's Attorney's Office is one of the first to join the University of South Dakota School of Law’s Public Service Pathway to Bar Admission pilot program, which gives new lawyers a way to work on big cases + learn hands-on skills. The program is expected to change how law graduates start public service work in South Dakota.  Rapid City Journal

HEALTH NEWS

  • Good Samaritan-St. Martin Village in Rapid City was named one of the best nursing homes for 2026 by U.S. News and World Report. The honor reflects the home’s good care and quality services.  Rapid City Journal

SPORTS NEWS

  • The No. 23 Black Hills State University men’s basketball team secured its second win in two days when it beat UMary 85—74 on Saturday at the Dakota Challenge in Bismarck. Jaeton Hackley and Jack Haggett led with seven assists each as the Yellow Jackets built an early 12—2 advantage and hit 11 triples in the game.  KBHB
  • South Dakota's Coyotes beat Air Force 80-63 Saturday at The Monument as Isaac Bruns led with 22 points and six rebounds while the team built a strong lead less than two minutes into the game and used an 8-0 run in the second half. Caleb Walker scored 21 for the Falcons as the win improved the Coyotes' record to 5-3.  KBHB
