About this event
Walter Stein is a paleontologist and author who has been exploring for, excavating, preparing, researching and writing about dinosaurs and other vertebrate fossils since 1996. He holds a B.S. degree in Geology from Appalachian State University.
In this Turtle Soup presentation, Walter will review the different types of bone beds and discuss their methods of formation, distribution and significance. He will also explore some of the largest bone bed deposits found in the Hell Creek Formation which stretches over portions of South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana & Wyoming; as well as talk about a specific, multi-taxic bone bed called the Tooth Draw Quarry. Over the last 20 years, there have been some 4,000 scientifically significant elements recovered and over 2,000 tyrannosaur teeth discovered at this site.
The presentation includes a featured soup from Fork Real Cafe - join us at The Journey Museum and feed your mind & belly!
