- ➤ Fire crews are working to contain a wildfire that has covered about 20 acres near Hill City (off Highway 87) as officials monitor conditions and urge residents to steer clear of the area. Rapid City Journal

- ➤ The Rapid City Stevens Raiders began their season on Thursday with a 16-5 win over the Spearfish Spartans by scoring 13 runs in the fourth inning. The season opener marked a promising start for the team. KBHB
